7th Pay Commission: Government Doubles Child Care Allowance for women with disabilities. This hike in allowance is due to 7th Pay Commission recommendation. Central Government and Finance Ministry has declared to double child care allowance for disable women. In 6th Pay Commission this allowance is Rs. 1500/-. Now as per 7th Pay Panel recommendation government doubles child care allowance to Rs 3000/- per month.

“Women with disabilities shall be paid Rs 3,000 per month as special allowance for child care. The allowance shall be payable from the time of the child’s birth till the child is two years old,” This is the basic rule for child care allowance defined by DoPT – Department of Personnel and Training. Child Care Allowance shall be payable for a maximum of two eldest surviving children.
“This limit automatically raised by 25% as Dearness Allowance goes up by 50%” said the DoPT order, issued two days ago.
The DoPT has also issued orders for the reimbursement of children education allowance, which will be Rs 2,250 per month.
Currently government has doubles Child Care Allowance from Rs 1500 to Rs 3000 per month. They also added that this limit raised by 25% when DA goes to 50%. This notification / GR is affected to all disable women.
