Children Education Allowance in 7th Pay Commission
As per 7th CPC recommendation central government and committee on allowances finalize CEA – Children Education Allowance as Rs.2250 per month and per child and Hostel Subsidy Rs. 6750 per month per child. Commission has strongly object to extend the allowance beyond Class XII.
For CEA reimbursement, a certificate from the head of institute is sufficient, where child studied in the school during the previous academic year.

Presently CEA is admissible for two children and for study up to 12th standard.
If is there any dispute for claim school fee and hostel fee then you can do affidavit that this is the bonafied student of this school and this fee was paid by this person.
CEA – Children Education Allowance was introduced from 1-9-2008 as per the recommendation in 6th pay commission. In this scheme central government employee would be paid school fee and other expense connected with education of the child. With this benefits there is a big relief for the government employee.
There is also suggestion that this scheme should be extended to cover children graduation and post graduation in professional course. Because there is a huge expense in professional course for government and private sector.
